Our Founder's Story
This is the story of our founder, Jeff Marshall — a U.S. Army veteran, seasoned data scientist, and political strategist with a strong academic background in political science. Jeff created Data in 3D to help campaigns, organizations, and advocacy groups turn complex political data into actionable insights.
With over a decade of experience in political data management, predictive modeling, and digital infrastructure, Jeff has supported campaigns and civic engagement efforts across the country. He has built custom data pipelines, designed advanced voter targeting models, and trained teams to leverage technology for maximum impact.

Our Founder's Experience in the Democratic Party
Jeff's deep involvement in the Democratic Party spans precinct, district, state, and national levels, bringing unmatched insight to every campaign.
Precinct Leadership
Served as both Chair and Vice Chair in Forsyth County, driving grassroots organizing and volunteer coordination at the most fundamental level of Democratic politics.
Congressional District Leadership
Held positions as 2nd Vice Chair and 3rd Vice Chair of the 5th Congressional District Democratic Party, shaping outreach strategies and strengthening district operations.
State-Level Leadership
Served for several years on the North Carolina Democratic Party's Plan of Organization Committee, through appointments by district chairs, membership selections, and direct appointment from the NCDP State Party Chair.
Direct Advisory Role
Actively advises the NCDP State Data Director on strategic data usage, statewide targeting, and digital infrastructure enhancements.
Caucus Development
Contributed to drafting the foundational bylaws for both the Veterans Caucus and the Progressive Caucus, ensuring inclusive representation within the party's governance.
National Representation
Twice selected as a Democratic National Convention Delegate, representing North Carolina in 2016 and 2024, bringing national perspective to local data strategies.
